This post is part of a campaign in partnership with ABLE United, however all opinions are mine.
This is the month of giving but don’t forget to invest in the future of your loved one with a disability. We all are into the holiday spirit thinking in presents, parties but we can not loose our goal of take care of our financials and I want to share a good news with you: This the season for giving, and ABLE United is in the holiday spirit!
This is the good news:
For this season ABLE United is reducing the monthly account fee to $0.00, they are also offering individuals who create a new account during the months of November and December the opportunity to win a $1,000 contribution – and if you use my promo code MAMAESPECIAL17
during registration, they will send you a free gift. This is awesome! Not only are you contributing on the future of your child, but also you can take advantage of this great opportunity. I think this is the best gift you can give to a significant person, is to show how important is for you to assure their future.
And not only you, your friends or your extended family can also contribute to and ABLE United account during the holiday season via the eGift portal, check, money order, cashier’s check, or automatic contribution. It’s important to note, especially during the holiday season, that anyone may contribute to an ABLE United account!! Lets celebrate it!
ABLE United provides family members and friends with the opportunity to make a gift to an individual with a disability in the same manner as they contribute to a 529 college savings account. While an ABLE United account is an option to consider, they must be mindful of some of the differences between an ABLE United account and a 529 college savings account. The differences they should take into consideration might include:
- ABLE United accounts can only receive up to $14,000 in contributions from all sources per year (this limit increases to $15,000 in 2018).
- Funds in an ABLE United account can be used tax-free for a wide variety of qualified disability expenses including housing, transportation, medical, and even basic living expenses.
